And finally we managed to shoot the last 'to camera' piece for the HighRPM 'Autos & Angels' pilot this weekend just past.
A busy production schedule is harder to wind down than I originally thought; with many scheduled appointments still popping up on the calendar months after I started to turn down TV commercial work to get the time to actually piece together the footage we got over a year ago!
Excuses and an overseas trip to the UK aside ... I'm happy to have at last templated the very first episode so that all involved can see how it turned out.
+Brad Stott kindly took some time out of his busy weekend radio schedules to introduce the first one of these for us, and the timing couldn't have been better to try out the newly received AG-DVX200 on the Glidecam rig. The camera is impressive and as is common with Panasonic's pro lines of camera's is extremely intuitive to use and easy to fit into the production workflow. I'll be doing a review of it's features after Christmas once I'm a bit more versed with its features. The one thing I will say though is that it's just on the top end of weight for what the Glidecam/X-10 rig can handle in a camera so next years budget will have to include a Steadicam rig.
The pilot introduces local Darwin fabricator Rob Anderson and his immaculately presented VG Valiant Ute. With the help of Sienna production's +Salvatore Finocchiaro; I teamed up Rob's ute with local girl Christie Peterson for an underground car park shoot right in the heart of the city.
Controlled environmental conditions here in Darwin? Yes please, every time! Check out the pilot below ...
